PROCEDURE DETAILS
This is a very simple, but immediately satisfying procedure to repair splits or large holes in earlobes from previous piercings.
This operation is done whilst you are awake under local anaesthetic. The edges of the split need to be removed, the tissue reshaped and the earlobe put back together to give a natural looking result. This is a straightforward procedure, but should be done carefully for optimal results.
TECHNIQUE
The scars are usually on the front and back of the earlobe and vary slightly in each individual, but usually settle very well.
It is often necessary to make the scar into a small zig-zag shape to get the shape right and reduce the risk of the split recurring. Sterri strips or antibiotic ointment is then used as the dressing for the first week.
