During your initial consultation we will talk through exactly what type of enhancement you are looking to achieve and the volume difference you are aiming to gain.

Patients who do well with fat injections are those who want to increase their size by one or two cup sizes and stay as natural looking as possible. People wanting fat injections for more dramatic volume increases require more than one procedure so may prefer to use silicone implants instead.

FAT INJECTIONS

All fat injections involve liposuction from other areas, treating the fat to get the best part out of this and then reinjecting into the breast through tiny <1cm scars.

The procedure can be performed either under local anaesthetic with sedation or under general anaesthetic and no patients require surgical drains. All of the tiny stitches are dissolving so you don’t need to worry about having them removed.

Most patients feel up to going home the same day and prefer this to staying in hospital overnight, but you have the option of staying overnight if you prefer.

You can get in the shower to wash as soon as you like.

Most of the swelling and discomfort usually settles within 1-2 weeks, but it can take a few months to settle completely. Over the first 3 months some of the fat cells are reabsorbed, but what you are left with at 3 months is what you will keep forever. These fat cells are living tissue so completely natural and will continue to grow with you.

We will arrange a wound check one week after your procedure and follow up in the clinic at 6 weeks, 3 months and 6 months.

Tips/advice
get some dark coloured, elasticated underwear and sports bras to wear after your operation and provide both support and some compression to help with the swelling
