We will go through your full medical background, what the procedure involves and the whole recovery process.
There are a whole variety of techniques depending on what exactly needs to be addressed. The most common procedure is a standard abdominoplasty which involves a fairly long scar low down on the tummy that goes from one hip to the other and a separate tiny scar around the tummy button. These scars are mostly hidden within normal underwear. Most people have a surgical drain put in as part of the procedure to help reduce the collection of watery tissue fluid afterwards (called a seroma). This usually stays in for 1-3 days.
ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES
Some people have extra padding in the flank areas (love handles) that they would like addressing at the same time, which usually requires some additional liposuction.
Those with a lot of extra tissue in the upper abdomen sometimes benefit from additional liposuction to this area too, though this usually has to be done as a separate procedure as it isn’t safe to do at the same time.
